We’re so thrilled to be a part of this years JaxbyJax 2016 Literary Festival for a 3rd year in a row!! (*ringing our cow bell over here!), Saturday, November 12. Take a peek at the schedule below. Happy Hour til 7 pm and our Kitchen will be open til 2 am! Not in the mood for a beer or wine? We have cider and mead on tap and now serving Coffee and Hot Tea.

Now serving Gyros – Kitchen open late!

Come in and try our new Lamb and Beef Gyros, Pitas, Sandwiches and light fare including Brie andsilver-cow-menu Camembert Plates.

Cool weather is approaching and we are now serving Coffee and Hot Tea.

Kitchen is open til 12 am Tues – Thurs and til 2 am on Fri and Sat. All day on Sunday.

 

Sip & Sketch – Sunday, Nov 20

Join us at the Silver Cow for our workshop titled “Sip and Sketch” hosted by William McMahan. 14657517_648475385324428_1293692135407367635_nSunday, Novmeber 20, 3 – 5:30 pm

COST: $35

Cost Includes 2 Drinks (Beer, Wine, Soda, Coffee or Hot Tea) Light snacks and Art Materials

Participants will observe a 30 minute demonstration drawing and lecture on creating a still life drawing in graphite, while being served a beer or wine. After the demonstration, artists will work on their own drawing for an hour and a half, while receiving advice and feedback from William, and a second beer or wine. Drawing paper and materials will be provided.

We will also have All-You-Can-Drink Mimosas an Beermosas for $10 and Craft Beer Specials and a light menu of gyros, sandwiches, pitas, snacks and meat and cheese plates. Silver Cow will be open at 12 pm – 6pm on that Sunday.

This amazing 19% ABV mead from Dansk Mjød, a brewery in Billund, Denmark is highly regarded by both beer and wine enthusiasts alike!

“This artisan metheglin-style Danish mead has hibiscus and hops, which give it a soft, citrus-like flavor and very floral aroma. Its finish is hoppy-dry, spicy, and very warming.” —importer
“The world’s oldest fermented beverage made from honey has been a popular drink from Europe to Australia dating back to long before Viking times. One of the earliest references to fermented honey can be found in the Hindus of India’s holy books, the Vedas, which date back 4000 years and possibly even earlier than that.

“The oldest known recipe for mead to be written down in the Nordic countries was in 1520 by the Archbishop Olaus Magnus. The recipe comprised of water, honey, hops and brewers yeast, and concludes, that ‘on the eight day it may be drunk, but the longer it is left, the purer and better it will be.’

Brewer’s Notes: Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

With the two awesome events today – Bold City Brewery’s 8-Year Anniversary Celebration and European Street Cafe’s Oktoberfest – and a home game for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Silver Cow will be closed this Sunday ONLY.
 
We will open at our regular time on Tuesday (5pm) and next Sunday (Oct 30), we’ll be open from NOON-6pm with BOTTOMLESS BEERMOSAS AND MIMOSAS for only $10!
