Just tapped: Paratrooper Porter – Veterans United Craft Brewery 5.6% ABVparatrooper-porter-illustration-rgb-trans-gif_1

Brewer’s Notes:

A wonderful malty concoction which pours dark brown/black and is topped with a creamy tan head. Chocolate flavors are prominent with background notes of coffee and a hint of caramel and raisin. Malty sweetness is balanced by a moderate bitterness from the dark roasted grains. English hops contribute a unique flavor to an otherwise “All American” brew. Airborne – All The Way!

We at Silver Cow are excited to announce the next Art Exposition Opening of an amazingly talented artist this Thurs (Dec 1) at 7 pm.

Gourub Saha is the next artist whose incredible talent will be on display at Silver Cow!

Artist’s Statement:

“I am a self-taught artist, primarily interested in figure drawing and portraiture.  I work in a range of media, and continually push myself to try new techniques. I am a member of Art League of Jacksonville, and I draw daily.

I believe we all can turn a piece of paper or wood or metal into a beautiful art.   Creativity draws our attention to all that is beautiful, even though we are surrounded by so much troubles. Art brings forth a sense of peace in me, and my liberal use of color can transform any subject matter.”

Operation Turkey Sandwich – Nov 23

With Thanksgiving approaching, the awesome folks of Beer & Hymns have decided to do somethingoperation-turkey-2 a little special for those that get stuck working on the holiday – away from their family. Join us for a special Beer & Hymns event – Operation Turkey Sandwich – at Silver Cow on Wednesday (Nov 23), 7:30 pm – “Thanksgiving Eve” – to assemble bag lunches complete with turkey sandwiches, pumpkin bars and a few other portable versions of Thanksgiving classics!

Silver Cow is honored to be part of this! We will be tapping a couple of barrel-aged beers for the event and we’ll be offering drink specials throughout the evening.

Then, make the holiday even more rewarding for you by joining us all on Thanksgiving morning as we go all over town handing these bag lunches out to anyone who we find working. (7-11 clerks, bartenders, cops, bus drivers, strippers, Walmart employees, etc.)

There are many ways to help and we need lots of it! You can help by baking items to put into the bags, assembling the lunches, driving around to help hand them out or by donating money. You can also help by sharing this event with anyone else you think would be interested in helping make this happen!
